The role of management is to plan, organize and integrate resources with task to achieve the goals.
The activities can be classified in 5 sections:
Organizing purpose
Its purpose is to manage a system of tasks.
The evolution:
The last 40 years we have witnessed amazing evolution in management thanks to the computers and the new technologies developed, thanks to this technologies managing a project is easier and faster.
Project administrations is applied in almost everything yo want.
When to use P.M:
Different from ordinary routine.
Magnitude of effort:
When a job requires substantially more resources.
Changing environment:
Industries such as computers.

Matrix management
Basic project management
Pure project: a complete self-contained organization is created.
Matrix: the project is created from resources borrowed from the functional units. The projects must share its resources with other concurrent projects.
New venture management:
A tem is created to find new products or services that fits an organization special skills, capabilities and resource. Once the product is defined they proceed to develop it.
Product management:
Refers to a single person responsible for overseeing all aspects of a product’s production.
